Fun and fellowship complimented the menu of fabulous food at our inaugural host for a roast fundraiser for the Southland Hospital Ronald McDonald Family Room.
Thanks to Trish for being a wonderful host, to the members who attended, supported, coordinated and helped with the clean-up.
A goal of a $500 donation was planned with $441 already donated from Friday night with just $60 remaining to reach our Year 1 goal.
If you couldn’t attend on Friday night, you can support this fundraiser by making a donation directly at https://www.hostaroast.kiwi/rotary-club-of-invercargill, or alternatively support by way of buying a ticket in our special raffle on Tuesday.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room, Southland Hospital is an extension of the hospital that is directly connected to the Children’s and Neo Natal wards.
When families walk in, they forget they’re in a hospital – this is a place to rest and regroup just moments away from their children. A home away from home for families who have children undergoing treatment at Southland hospital.
There are also four overnight bedrooms, which are allocated on a daily basis by the Family Room Supervisor in consultation with the hospital’s medical staff. Rooms are provided to families on a greatest need basis and each family’s individual situation is taken into consideration.
