Club Awards presented at Melbourne Cup function
On Tuesday 4th November 2025 we held our second Melbourne Cup function and while Jamie Melham and Half Yours took the honours in the Cup, the Club used the occasion to celebrate our own winners with the inaugural Club awards.
President Michael presented Unsung Hero awards to two of our members partners Lyn Russell and Karl Shepherd. President Michael spoke to Rotarians "doing what we can for our club and the community with the time we have available which is truly appreciated, however it is important that we recognise members and helpers (non members) in the back ground who manage to find that extra time and go above and beyond for our clubs projects and the community."
Keeping it in the family, the inaugural winner of the Service Above Self Shield was Richard Russell and to cap the evening President Michael presented a Paul Harris Fellowship awarded to Lisa-Maree Fleck for “outstanding service to Rotary, the community and our club ”.
