Deep Cove Working Bee 2024
Good afternoon Club Members,
Firstly, please do accept my apologies for not being able to get the bulletin out last Friday. It has been a busy few weeks for Rotary with us being in Deep Cove between 19 - 21 January, followed by the Shakes-Fare Food market last Friday. I will certainly try to get back to my routine of getting the bulletin out on Fridays from now on.
Deep Cove was a great experience for me - this was my first time over there and I'm pleased to report that I picked up a new skill! Of course the superstar carpet layer was Richard Russell with his beautiful assistant Lyn. Rob Philips was our glue-roller extraordinaire and Ross, Karl and Asitha all played significant roles in making sure the carpets were laid. Fee and Josh showed their impressive carpentry capabilities and the rest of us cleaned, and tidied and cleaned some more! A huge thank you to Alice and Helen McCurdy, in addition to the maintenance work they did they also kept the crew very well fed. The food was outstanding and the company fantastic! And the best part was we achieved a significant amount of work over the time we spent in Deep Cove.
I'd also like to thank Helen Cook for organising the Sausage Sizzle for Shakes-Fare Food Market, held last Friday. The set-up for the BBQ was excellent and everything ran like clockwork. Our gourmet sausages on ciabatta bread went down a treat and our stall probably had the most amount of Shakespearean styled 'merry-making' of the whole street. Thank you to all the Rotary members and families that supported the fundraising effort.
