Oktoberfest Committee enjoying a well deserved drink.
The Club’s inaugural Oktoberfest, held on Saturday 11th October at the Army Centre, was a success — and as promised was much more than just beer.
With 25 guests dressed in their finest Beerfest inspired attire, the evening was a vibrant celebration of food, fellowship, with Bavarian flair.
The committee, made up of new members, delivered an event that exceeded expectations. 2025 event Committee members were Karen Witham, Sally Dobbs, Arsalan Abdollahi, Anuradha Gamage, Hemal Amarasekara and Community Club Director Helen Cook.
Guests arrived to beer hall vibes created in the Army Centre venue, with Oktoberfest inspired decorations and AV enhancements.
The German-inspired spread was a hit, with an array of dishes to choose from that kept spirits high and plates full.
Spot prizes and activities added a playful twist, with lots of laughter as members and guests connected over stories and steins.
The most telling sign of success? Attendees are already asking about the date for Oktoberfest 2026 !
Shout out of thanks to the Army Centre team for sharing their beautiful venue with us and to Jocelyn who was a superstar behind the bar!
